THE FIFTH PRECEPT OF CIVILIZATION IN DEPTH

Precept 5: Success Depends On Allegiance To These Precepts And No Others In Protecting The Sanctity Of Planetary Life

If humanity is to thrive with the least amount of suffering these precepts cannot be ignored. They might be refined, or written more gloriously, but they are the order of this millennial century. There is no alternative basis for protecting the Nature of life on Earth.

These Precepts Of Civilization change everything about our antiquated ways of thinking. They provide a fresh understanding for appreciating the basis of life, the limits to our survival, and dispel all the propaganda advocating corruption of our planetary societies. A sane brain will not dismiss the value of these elementary facts of life, but test and explore them. We are bright enough to realize the Earth is a truly a glorious place. And we are also smart enough to defend our Nature tenaciously… as much as we possibly can… by bringing all resources and actions into line with health.

If these truths are widely taught and shared we could see a groundswell of optimism and enthusiasm for producing a much higher quality of living. We can add to the number of people already dedicated to healing the wounds we inflicted upon Terra-Firma, by standing against policies and practices that do harm. We cannot allow their caring investments to be thwarted nor controlled by those with interests of private gain.

We have experimented with every style of elitist-governance with disastrous result, so it is time to remove that ancient barrier to wellness. Those that would defend the folly of economic war and corrupt leadership can give no valid reason to continue an embarrassingly criminal culture. Any advocate for more of the same uncivilization can be classified as mentally unfit, and surely one that belongs to a gang of thieves. We should not give up, nor give into pressures of the old ways, because they cannot be defended.

Gentlemen: Ideas outlive men. Ideas outlive all earthly things. You who fought in the war for the Union fought for immortal ideas, and by their might you crowned the war with victory. But victory was worth nothing except for the truths that were under it, in it, and above it. – – James A. Garfield, presidential campaign speech, New York, 6 August 1880

People the world over should have the opportunity to know and accept these Precepts as primary facts of existence that light an enduring path for humanity. They are fundamental to the scientific basis of education and raising responsible citizens, a gateway to a healthy state of mind. They are the incentive of dialog to define truth for a better way of living at the very least. Let us live by the moral purpose of engineering goodness based on these durable limitations about Our Nature. There is no dignity, grace, honor, nor reward, without consistent moral competence and performance.
