Time and movement are emphasized in this piece on competitive swimming. Many transparent washes were applied to achieve brilliant color, reflections and the fluid nature of water. The main swimmer is depicted in a series of overlapping body positions to create an unusual looking figure. It took more than 240 hours to complete the work over a period of six months.
